SOG ON SET
“Has anyone got a knife” was a common request from the crew on the Sunray set and it wasn’t always for underwater knife fighting or keeping an actor in check. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to be carrying a number of SOG tools and packs to keep the production on track. The tools never missed a beat and the packs were great for carrying tape, Haribo, batteries, torches and origami style folded call sheets.
The ‘Manpack’ or SOG Surrept waist pack as it’s officially known is now our chosen grip pack of choice. With a good capacity, comfortability, array of zip pockets for kit segregation, and a handy slip that fits a SOG Ultra XR perfectly; the Surrept would be equally at home on the ‘hill’ or any other outdoor discipline. I wore my Surrept for at least 15 hours a day for a 3-week duration, often overloaded with batteries and ‘bootneck’ admin; it never missed a beat.
The Kiku assisted black was my weapon of choice, the assisted action is overly addictive and rewarding on every single pull; I was screaming for the excuse for someone to request a tool, just so I could see the ‘action’ in action once again.
Thank you SOG for the assist during production.
